I recently came across a heartwarming video of a foster puppy named Turkey experiencing the beach for the first time, and it’s winning hearts all over social media.
Evan Cooper, Turkey’s foster parent, shared this delightful moment on his Instagram Reels. In the video, you can see Turkey, who’s a bit scared of the big sea and the waves, as it’s her first beach visit.
Foster puppy makes sense of waves in a viral Instagram video
The Instagram video captures Turkey’s initial reaction to the waves, and it’s gone viral. Evan captioned it perfectly: “If I was 7 pounds, I would also be scared of waves.”
The clip starts with Cooper and his dog Vader arriving at the beach. Vader excitedly jumps out of the car and runs toward the water. Meanwhile, Cooper gently guides Turkey out of the vehicle and towards the beach.
You can see Turkey trying to make sense of the waves lapping at her tiny paws. She looks a bit frightened by the vast ocean and the incoming waves, even taking a few steps back when a small wave approaches.
Seeing Turkey’s apprehension, Evan Cooper tries to comfort and encourage her. He reassures her, saying, “It’s okay, you don’t need to be afraid. It’s okay.” He continues, “Come here, Turkey.
There’s nothing to be afraid of. They’re just waves.” When Turkey finally dips her paws into the seawater, Cooper praises her with a cheerful, “Good girl.”
The video also shows Cooper holding Turkey and gently letting her paws touch the waves. It’s such a sweet moment. The clip ends with Turkey and Vader adorably playing with a ball on the beach.
This video is a wonderful reminder of the small joys and first experiences that make fostering pets so rewarding.
