A mom barely had to try to rile up her dog in this funny Instagram clip from @rustythegoodboygsd, she simply spoke to him in his own “language.”
Rusty, a German Shepherd, was just standing around looking proud and enjoying a calm moment at home. Then his owner decided to shake things up.
In the video, Rusty’s mom playfully “rage baits” him, and his reaction makes it seem like he is telling her to stop.
Dog Tells Mom to ‘stop’ when She Rage Baits Him Like This in Funny Video
The clip shows Rusty’s mom putting his patience to the test as she tries to provoke him.
It starts with the German Shepherd facing away from the camera, quietly minding his own business, while text on the screen reads, “Rage baiting my dog for fun.” Out of nowhere, his mom lets out a mocking bark, and everything changes.
Rusty quickly snaps his head around, clearly surprised, and barks right back at her.
He refuses to ignore it. When his owner repeats the teasing bark, Rusty answers again with the same intensity and attitude.
After a short pause, he grabs a stuffed toy and shakes it hard, like he is trying to release the frustration she just caused. In the caption, his owner jokes, “I think he told me to stop making fun of him.”
This kind of back and forth feels very familiar if you live with a vocal dog. Dogs often react to tone and rhythm just as much as actual words.
That is why many dogs, like Rusty, seem to “talk back” when they hear sounds that match their own vocal style. German Shepherds, in particular, are known for being alert and expressive, which explains Rusty’s instant and dramatic response to his mom’s teasing.
At the end of it all, Rusty makes one thing clear. If he hears a bark, he is going to answer, and when it is over, that toy is going to feel it.
