In one delightful video, a smart German Shepherd shows just how it’s done. His method is straightforward and hard to resist. He lets out the sweetest whines to ask for food ahead of schedule.
Even when his dad says no at first, the persistent pup ends up getting exactly what he wants.
Dog Whines Sweetly, and The Owner Gives In
This dog isn’t too concerned about sticking to a schedule, he’s ready to eat whenever the mood strikes. In a video posted by @bestboybenson, a German Shepherd named Benson puts on an adorable performance to convince his owner that it’s time for dinner.
The clip opens with Benson gazing up at his owner with an irresistibly cute expression. When asked to sit, he listens right away. Then comes the question, is he whining because he wants dinner? Benson responds with a soft whine and a head tilt, almost like he’s saying yes.
It looks like he’s sure his dad will give in and grab the food immediately. But that’s not what happens. His owner explains that it’s only 4:30, which means dinner will have to wait.
Benson isn’t ready to accept that answer. He whines again and even acts like he’s leaving the room, as if that might change his dad’s mind. Watching his determination, the owner finally gives in and serves dinner to his furry companion.
Later, he admits that “sometimes Benson is in charge of when he eats,” which says a lot about life with a pet.
Dogs have a funny way of showing just how determined they can be, especially when food is involved. It doesn’t really matter if it’s not time to eat yet. When they decide they’re hungry, they’ll do whatever it takes to make it happen.
