I never get tired of seeing how dogs react to technology, and this Golden Retriever just proved why. Modern tech feels amazing, right up until you see it through the eyes of a dog who has no idea what is going on.
In this case, Stella, a Golden Retriever living on the Upper West Side of New York City, is completely puzzled after seeing her dad appear on a FaceTime call.
One moment, he is there in person for cuddles. The next, he is a tiny moving figure trapped inside a laptop screen.
Her mom, who shares videos at @stellathegoldennyc, captured the whole moment. Stella stares at the screen with so much love, resting her nose gently on the keyboard as she listens to his voice.
You can tell she recognizes him instantly. At the same time, she cannot figure out why he is suddenly so small or why she cannot reach him. Watching her try to process it all is unbelievably sweet.

Stella stays planted on the bed while her mom records everything. Golden Retrievers are known for being deeply attached to their families, and Stella is no exception.
They are often called velcro dogs, and this moment really shows why. Seeing her dad without being able to touch or smell him clearly does not sit right with her.
At first, she looks calm and content, just soaking in the sound of his voice. Then you can almost see the shift. Something clicks in her brain, and she realizes this situation does not make sense. That is when she decides to investigate.
She taps at the keyboard a few times, as if trying to interact with him. Then she stands up and leans over the laptop screen, checking behind it like she expects to find him hiding there.
